I wandered the streets today--after it rained just enough to make it good and humid! A bit of everything in Georgetown: English colonial buildings, Christian churches, Buddhist temples, Hindu temples, Mosques, Clan Houses, and the Clan Piers. The area is compact and easy to navigate -- a block this way or that finds you in Little India or China Town or the local market.

Ice Kacang. Shaved ice topped with sweetened red bean, creamed sweet corn, palm fruit, dried nutmeg and other jellies. Then drizzle it all with rich evaporated milk. Lovely treat. |

Iced White Penang Coffee and Rojak: a mix of fruit, vegetables, and fried dough covered with a sugar, chili, lime juice, and dark prawn paste dressing. Peanuts on the top. More than a snack! Quite sweet.
