Headed North

We are headed north -- summer finally arrived in the Bay Area so we packed up for a trip to the Canadian Rockies via Portland, Seattle, and Vancouver.

Day 1 we arrived in Portland, scoring on a lovely suite hotel room through Priceline low bidding.  Our first try and we are hooked.  We had dinner at Wolf & Bear's food cart in SE Portland and then headed into Powell's Books for a few hours of book overload.

Packed and Ready for Action!

Enjoying the Food Cart scene!  Yummy!

Then it was onto Seattle -- one of our favorite destinations.  The weather was very un-Seattle like with blue skies and warm temperatures.  We spent the evening with Ron, Susan, and Christine -- friends from cruising Mexico many years ago.

Then into Seattle for our visit with David and Monica.  It is always a joy to see them both.  David gave us a personal tour of the EMP and 3 new exhibits:  Avatar, Nirvana, and Battlestar Galactica.  The building itself is also a treat for color and shape.

A great exhibit with lots of interactive exhibits, concept art and info on the technology used in the film.
