The days flew by in Aqua Verde, one of our favorite Baja anchorages. Beach hikes, birding, kayaking, and lazing in the sun. All pleasant ways to spend a few days. There was hardly a speck of wind and I think after blowing snot for a week plus, those pleasant days were a welcome reward.
One day we had to share the anchorage with one of the cruise ships that ply these waters. We went to bed with a completely silent and darkened environment, only a few anchor lights twinkling and a campfire or two ashore. The village has no electricity so only a few lights there either. Then, in the night one could hear a low rumble. Peaking outside it was as if an entire city block had just come into view: those lights and generators run nonstop! The BIG boat cruisers had some morning activities: a hike or a horseback ride or a beach walk. And off they went by lunch time! Quiet again.
There is a small tienda here--we got fresh tortillas, a few bananas, and goat cheese. Yummy. We traded 4 double A batteries for a fresh fish. We bought a lottery ticket for a school fund raiser.
Today we moved to Candeleros and are anchored off a fancy resort and tapping into the free WiFi signal. Tomorrow we move a few more miles up to Puerto Escondido.
