Halong Bay

Majestic, mysterious, inspiring and imperious, Halong Bay's 3,000+ incredible rise from the emerald waters of the Gulf of Tonkin.  It is a landscape of limestone islets, caves, and small sandy beaches.  And believe me, tour boats are everywhere.

I booked a 2 day, 1 night tour from Hanoi -- and it was a great experience.  After a 3 hour ride, we were transferred to the boat.  And then were motored off into the islands.  The boat was small; there were about 20 of us; we kayaked, hiked, explored a cave, did a bit of sun worship.  The next day was back to Hanoi and an overnight bus south.
