The Royal Tombs

The Royal Tombs are scattered in the area around Hue.  I joined a tour to see 3 impressive and quite different tombs.  Again, all are in various states of disrepair and renovation.

We visited 3 Tombs:
Tomb of Minh Mang, 2nd Emperor, who reign from 1820-1840.
Tomb of Khai Dihn, 12th Emperor, who visited France...and his tomb certainly shows that
Tomb of Tu Duc, 4th Emperor.  He did not like life in the Citadel so he lived at "his tomb" site for several years.  He went to the Citadel only to see his Mother (2x month).

All different..all have walls, stone guards, gates, temples, and altars.
