Phong Hna-Ke Bang National Park

A totally amazing National Park containing the oldest karst mountains in Asia, it is riddled with hundreds of caves.  Paradise Cave is HUGE!!  Stunning dry caves, terraced caves, towering stalagmites and glistening crystal-edged stalactites were breath taking.  The cave was discovered in 2005;  the world's largest cave (Son Doong) was found only in 2009 and contains a rain forest inside!
So I did an all day tour, after an all night bus ride.  The tour included a zipline (um, in a National Park?), swimming in the cave, and hearing about the war.  The Ho Chi Mihn Trail traversed this area (joins with Laotian border in central Vietnam) and was heavily bombed and agent oranged and napalmed.  Not so nice stuff.

The day was a bit dreary and with dark caves, not so many pictures.  Check on line for better shots.
It was stunning.
